DON’T WORRY – WE’RE RUNNING HOT AND COLD!

Go to the Doctors!

That’s the message from a Cornish GP amid concerns Corona Virus could be keeping people who need medical help from seeking it.

Patient intake at hospitals and surgeries globally has plummeted during the international flu lockdown.

Now health professionals are concerned citizens who may need diagnoses or treatment for other serious conditions may be at risk.

In Cornwall Dr Tony Shaw, a Chacewater and Devoran GP, has taken to YouTube to assure local people it’s safe to see a doctor.

Like many other doctors he’s concerned that people with symptoms of heart attacks, strokes or cancer may be shying of seeing their GP during the pandemic.

In his three minute vid Dr Shaw explains how surgeries have been split down the middle in to ‘Hot’ coronavirus dedicated areas and ‘Cold’ business-as-usual sections.

He said: “If you’re worried about your health – don’t ignore it.

Your GP is safe, open for business, and ready to help you.”

The local doctor went on: “The world has changed a lot within a very short space of time.

“Some people now might be fearful of coming to the doctor.

“They might be worried that they are wasting the doctors time. Or that they might catch corona virus at a surgery.

“I want to reassure patients that neither of these is the case.

“Whether you’re mobile, housebound, or even looking after someone with the virus, contact us if you are concerned about your health.”
