Cornish pubs are brightening up the Covid Lockdown by dropping locals favourite tipples to locked down living rooms for Flora Day

The sad sight of Helston’s empty streets this Flora Day Friday drew sighs on social media this week.

Helstons streets are usually awash with revellers today..

But folk perked up again when jovial Blue Anchor landlord Simon Stone posted that though the pubs may be empty…

Yep..the pubs are empty..look..

…he could bring you Spingo to your front door so you could celebrate solo!

Helston clearly doesn’t intend to let the flu get them down, with many Flora Day fans dressing up to the nines in the comfort of their own homes.

And thanks to local boozers rising to the occasion now they can toast a once in a historic break with tradition we trust we’ll never face again

Flora Day 2020 – made-up on the fly at home in splendid isolation.

Popular pub landlord Simon told punters: “Please help keep Spingo flowing this Flora Day!

“We can take orders on 07799731092 or on our Facebook Page

“Hope you are all safe and well!”

Simon can deliver Wednesday Thursday and Friday.

The many other famous Helston pubs from the Red Lion to the Beehive and so on are expected to follow suit.

So keep local businesses on their feet and your spirits (no pun intended – groan ;)) up – and have some Wahey At Home this Lockdown Flora Day!!

In the meantime here’s a blast from the past to get you in the mood.
